FOAMS^™ (Fiber-Optic Acousto-Mechanical Sensor) – The FOAMS^™ system is a cost-effective, disposable, and non-invasive point-of-care, vital-sign physiology monitor device that accurately, reliably, and non-intrusively monitors for sleep-disorders physiological conditions. These include breathing patterns, heart rhythms, oxygenation levels, and body movement associated with sleep apnea, insomnia, or other respiratory disorders in infants, children, and adults. The FOAMS^™ system provides seamless patient monitoring of sleep disorder physiology conditions by measuring over time using “Smart-Fabrics” produce in the form of disposable bedsheets or wearable garments, that integrate a distributed array of woven fiber optic sensors suitable for the real-time non-invasive monitoring of basic biomechanical and biochemical physiological parameters over time.
